slingshot
I have been playing around with the sales copy of my selling activity. Sort of giving personal touch in my items description. Will my post be flagged or not? I’ll see soon.

In selling one slingshot, here’s my description of the item: (more…)

Story Telling Sells

Written by Becypher on Friday, August 10th, 2007 in Selling, Tips and Tutorials.

“I bought a pair of shoes but my wife unknowingly bought the same exact model… So I am selling this one pair.”

“You know what?, I was able to compose 3 songs in one sitting using this classic guitar. This one might be magical…”

Get it?

A dose of personal stories on your item destination might spell the difference between SOLD and NOT SOLD. These personal stories or item backgrounds make the prospect bidder excited and help them finish what’s up for bid/sale. (more…)

Oh The Pain Of Selling Below Costs

Written by ShopOne on Monday, August 6th, 2007 in Selling, Tips and Tutorials.

Have you ever listed an item way below your purchase price? If yes, don’t pout, don’t be sad. You are not alone. All of us sellers who sell physical goods go thru this and it’s a pain.

Just last week, I sold 3 sets of COBY DVD Player for only P5200. Where, the purchase price of that model was around P7500.00. The later models of that player is only P5400.00, we had no option but to dive. (more…)

P300 – A nice price point in selling items online

Written by ShopOne on Monday, August 6th, 2007 in Selling, Tips and Tutorials.

I just read an article saying that in U.S., $19.95 seems to be the magic price. You’ll see this in infomercials, email offers and even sp@ms. Even the products that go over $100, they make it a point to break the payments into $19.95.

Marketers feel that, Americans usually have spare $20 lying around. Very likely, this $20 is ready for that “quick and unplanned purchases”. And why, $19.95? Why have that 95 cent kicker? They use that for that “discount” or “sale” effect. At online classifieds sites, sellers also use that to get attention. Sub-consciously, the potential buyer is thinking, this some kind of a good deal.

Then I began to wonder, what’s the nice tipping price point for Filipino online sellers? What’s the best price to work with to get that quick orders? (more…)

eBay Buy and Sell Activity Also Make My Blood Pressure High

Written by ShopOne on Wednesday, July 18th, 2007 in Selling.

We all know that eBay is a great place to buy and sell various commodities. But behind the rewards of buying and selling at eBay lie the danger of scams, the frustrating spams, the agony of the non-paying bidders or joybidders, the trigger-happy negative posters, etc.

Despite the efforts of eBay to clear the site of malicious user accounts, sadly, a number of these scammers still exist. There are, of course, the now getting old African (Nigerian) scammers. They will even offer you hundreds of dollars more than what your item is worth. Sounds fake? It’s fake.

These users flooded my inbox especially when eBay.ph was launched in 2004. Now, they kinda backed-off a bit. A new set of email spammers are now ruling the eBay, the “chinese-we-are-a-wholesaler” types. (more…)

My Handle is “Kwarta-O-Kahon”

Written by Becypher on Tuesday, June 19th, 2007 in Our News, Selling.

Over the weekend, I checked out some of my stuff at my mother’s house and I found some items that I may be able to sell at eBay and other online marketplace. I also have some new items that I can sell at discounted prices (shoe, printer, ipod shuffle) so I decided to create a new account at eBay. My sort of personal ebay account.

Check it out, I may have some stuff that you need, you’ll absolutely get a bargain. :-)

I chose to have “kwarta-o-kahon” as my new ID. Every now and then, I’ll check my email to see if Tito Pepe is coming in and suing my ass off.

Because I am a sucker for registering domain and not doing anything about it, I’ll register that domain right about now.

Here’s my page listing. I got car parts, printers, shoes and MP3 player for sale. Grab it.

Next weekend, I’ll be posting a Pentium III PC, Bench Shoes/Sneakers, Girbaud Shoes, Girbaud Wallet perhaps, Defective Water Boiler, Brand New Backpack Laptop Bag, etc.

Posting at Auction.Ph and Checking Out the Auction.Ph E-MALL

Written by ShopOne on Monday, May 28th, 2007 in Our News, Selling.

I am quite late in testing the Auction.Ph site but I figure, I need to test it myself so I know the experience of selling and buying at the site. I tried posting a couple of items and will try to come back tonight to post more. I’ll be trying out other listing types as well like the auctions, bargain, cooperative etc. Also, the Auction.ph E-Mall is worth looking at.

The Auction.ph features E-MALL and that these E-Malls are a specialized selling methods/stores or channels that will allow sellers to reach a more targeted market. If you are a seller, you may want to post your items on a more targeted category, thus, you should try out the Auction.Ph’s E-MALL. (more…)
