Written by ShopOne on Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 in News & Reports.

Redpages.ph (owned by Creative Online Media Inc) launched an online DIY website creator for small and medium enterprise – the Webexpress.ph. As we all know, one business can not afford not to have its own online presence. Speaking of “afford”, for this Redpage.ph service, this is absolutely free. The neg is, you’ll be using a redpage – subdomain for this service. Like, www.blink.redpage.ph.

UPDATE: I checked out the FAQ, and it says, they can host your site even if you own your domain name. I tested the service and used the aforementioned sample as our Redpage.ph website…

www.blink.redpage.ph

See the webexpress site, it has built-in templates and has this Web2.0 shiny look. Only, dunno if the Web2.0-ish look is still cool today. The sure cool thing is, it’s indeed an easy sign-up. I signed. But Redpages.ph – Webexpress will use some 24 hours before they can activate the account.

Some info…

It is completely free to create a website at webexpress.ph. With your free account, you are entitled to post up to 5 product photos with Description, 20 Selling leads and unlimited Buying leads. You can opt to upgrade your account for a small fee. But our free service is and will remain 100% feature packed.

Automatically listed in Redpages.ph. Redpages.ph is Philippine’s fastest growing online directory. Your website and products will be automatically listed into 3 categories. Thousands of Buyers browse and search Redpages.ph everyday.

Psoop.com is Probably the Next Craigslist

Written by ShopOne on Thursday, June 10th, 2010 in News & Reports.

The website www.Psoop.com was recently launched online to make advertising online more secure, easier, and faster.Russel Gabiola, owner of Psoop.com, was challenged to reinvent the site and change the concept of Psoop from being a social bookmarking website to a free classifieds ad service. According to Russel, “The concept is not new but I believe Psoop.com is a catchy short domain. It used to be a social bookmarking site with no substance and I didn’t see growth in that. My hope for Psoop is that people will start to talk about it and post ads like crazy. It could be the next Craigslist, who knows? Advertisers now have the freedom to use their time online for more important things rather than wasting it on registration for posting ads. Even though the site does not require registration, it is built with spam protection and ads that violate posting rules will be removed.

“Placing ads at Psoop is easy as 1-2-3. Just fill out a simple form, upload an image and then submit. The ad is automatically added after submission and becomes visible to everyone. If the advertiser decides to change and edit the ad, he or she can just input the ad code sent to the email address provided and continue with the edit. Psoop.com also allows simple reply service to the ad by directly contacting the advertiser using the link displayed on the site. The advertiser automatically receives the reply to his or her email address and can exchange messages from there. Psoop.com accepts advertising from various categories such as product promotion, websites and domains for sale, job posts, and more. Additionally, advertisers may also choose to feature their ads on all the pages of the site for as low as $50.”

Multiply Supports Online Selling & Online Sellers

Written by ShopOne on Thursday, October 22nd, 2009 in News & Reports.

Until now, running a shop on Multiply has technically been a violation of our terms of service. As long as you didn’t spam anyone though, we simply looked the other way and let you go about your business. I know that this policy didn’t exactly give you all a lot of comfort, so I’m happy to announce that we’ve updated our terms of service to reflect the fact that running a shop on Multiply is now an officially endorsed activity.

If you would like to run a shop on Multiply, all you have to do is identify yourself as an online seller. To do this, click on “my account” at the top of any page and then on “My Account Info”. In the Account Type field just check the box to indicate that your account is an online shop. That’s it! Once you make this change, you’ll see “Online Seller” appear below your headshot on your site (or “Premium Seller” if you have a Premium account).

Please help us spread the word on this. You will need to check this box in order to continue to run your shop on Multiply, but we understand that it will take time for everyone to get the message.

Also, please continue to be mindful of our spam policy. Sending unsolicited personal messages, or posting to groups, for the purpose of promoting your shop is considered spam and could result in the cancellation of your account.

Being officially supported and having the ability to identify yourself as an online seller is a great first step, but we have more to come. In the near future we’ll start adding features designed explicitly for you to help you better run your business on Multiply. The reason for this group is to allow you to help guide us in those efforts.

For now, thanks for your continued support of Multiply and I’ll be back in touch soon with many, many questions. :-)

Buy Pinoy, Buy Local

Written by ShopOne on Friday, May 8th, 2009 in News & Reports.

The Federation of Philippine Industries, Inc., in partnership with the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce has launched a campaign for Filipinos to patronize locally made products under the banner “BUY PINOY, BUY LOCAL”.

This movement is in adherence to Administrative Order No. 227, dated May 27, 2008 issued by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Said Order directs all national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), government owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs), government financial institutions (GFIs), State Universities and Colleges, Military and Police Units to give preference in the procurement of materials and supplies produced, made and manufactured in the Philippines.

Among the reasons for the campaign, the Federation says, are as follows: First – “The concept of “Buy Pinoy, Buy Local” is widely acknowledged as an effective shield of our country against the current global crisis”.

Secondly – “The project is also in tandem with our advocacy on anti-smuggling”. “It will greatly minimize smuggling which is the mother of all corruption – as the saying goes: “When the buying stops, smuggling stops.

“Thirdly – “Buying anything local under any campaign banner would result to import substitution and increase capacity utilizations of our factories, which will in turn generate additional employment as well as revenues for the government to fund the basic needs of our people.”

Likewise, this campaign is anchored on our Constitution’s mandate that: “The State shall promote the preferential use of Filipino labor, domestic materials and locally produced goods and adopt measures that help make them competitive”. Hence, with this constitutional provision, as Filipinos, we are obliged to patronize locally made products.
