Was given 6000 peso gift-cash by my sister with specific memo where to buy, and what to buy… Lacoste Polo Shirts. But cmon, I am really a cheap guy and will not spend 4k on a polo shirt. So, we agreed on Armani Exchange clothing instead. I got this AX Jeans and another AX round neck tee. Thanks!

Buying clocks via Paypal and ebay book shopping

Written by ShopOne on Friday, March 26th, 2010 in Buying.

Amazingly, 4 books delivered today to me without me getting out of office. Books from eBay.ph. I paid only P700 pesos for the said books (1 is a coffee table book about gardens, btw, I am not gay). I paid via gcash and it was sent via 2Go courier service.

And today, I ordered clocks from HK. For personal use and project. The amount is around 100 dollars. I paid via my Paypal account and in minutes, payment is done. The clocks should arrive perhaps next week.

If 20 years ago, you told me, “hey in twenty years you can sit your butt off, and can shop and pay wherever the seller is and wherever the items are and whenever you want it”, I would have told you, you’re crazy. Then again, you may have been a toddler twenty years ago.

On Parking and Buying Online

Written by Becypher on Thursday, August 14th, 2008 in Buying, Lifestyle.

I read the news today oh boy…

…and I learned exactly three things.

  1. Be careful with my parking stay at Magallanes Village parking area.
  2. Never leave my laptop inside the car and go dining.
  3. Finally, be very careful on buying online. Most specially high valued items like laptop.

Ace Hardware, The Helpful But Aint Full Place

Written by Becypher on Tuesday, August 12th, 2008 in Buying, Offline Biz.

A play with corporate tag line… Ace, the helpful place.lead-solder.jpg

I did quick shop of some tools over at Ace Waltermart Pasay Road – Pasong Tamo. My pliers, long nose and cutter set is delaying some electrical tasks I’ve been doing so I needed a new set. I went for the “Daiken” line, a mid-range priced brand name. A 3-pc pliers, long nose and a cutter is at P600 range. (more…)

IBM Thinkpad T43 Via Tipid PC

Written by Becypher on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 in Buying.

ibm-t3-laptop-400-x-300.jpg

Now back to regular programming. I was out for a while today. As I went to a quickie meeting and then picked up one extra laptop we can use to create another account at SULIT.com.ph. LOL.

Complete specs and review of IBM Thinkpad Notebook here.

We wanted to have this IBM second hand laptop than getting a new notebook in the range of P20,000 to P25,000. Also getting the mini laptops (ASUS EEPC, MSI Wind) was not an option ‘coz we’re looking at whole day computing affair. We don’t want eyes and head aches after a days work via small UPMCs.

The price? It’s P20000 plus minus some hundred bucks.

IBM ThinkPad T43 Specs as Delivered…

IBM Thinkpad T43 (M/T 1872-AU8)

* Intel Pentium M Processor 740
* 2MB L2 cache, 1.70 GHz, 533MHz FSB
* 1GB DDR2 SODIMM Memory
* 14.1″ SXGA+ TFT LCD Monitor
* 40GB Hard Disk 5400RPM with Active Protection System
* CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive
* 802.11b/g Wireless LAN (54 mbps)
* 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit LAN
* (2) USB 2.0 Ports
* IrDA Interface + Touchpad + Ultranav
* Li-Ion battery pack (3 hours)
* 2.3 kg
* IBM Warranty until December 2008

The rugged casing of IBM Thinkpads make this series really durable. And of course what’s inside matters too. IBM Inside.

After some months not going at TipidPC, look what happened, it’s there I was able to get this deal. Good thing, my IP was blocked by SULIT.com.ph, I looked elsewhere. Thus, I found this IBM. It’s better than the 18,000 second hand laptops offered by online second hand laptop stores in the Philippines.

GOOD DDR RAM Buy! BAD Seller?

Written by Becypher on Saturday, May 24th, 2008 in Buying, Lifestyle.

I swung by one mall few days ago and I happen to chance upon NBA Live 2008 PC installer. Naaahh, I was really looking to get one. It’s by no means, by accident. I got NBA LIVE 2008 installer last year but it won’t work so I tried again. I wanted my work PC to have a game that will keep me sane. Installer cost – 100 bucks. DEBEDE Sir?

From what Makati mall? Damn, it’s for Edu to find out.

Good ‘ol CDR King (ecBuyph.com competitor) got cheapo cheapo joystick controller, a generic one, cost is P200.00. I got two gamepads for two game players mode. Me, a lazy gamer, I don’t like tiring my fingers and busting my keyboards. Sa iba, they prefer the keyboards. I definitely like gamepads. (more…)

Fila Shoes Sale 1/3 of the Price at SM – Mall of Asia

Written by Becypher on Tuesday, January 15th, 2008 in Buying.

Since last month I was on a look out for rubber shoes that I can wear on normal shorts and even jeans. AND, of course, at the same time, wear in case I’ll play light basketball, badminton and quite possibly jog. The salesman over at MOA SM offered a cross-trainer type of rubber shoes. Yaknow, the one that looks like for “aerobics” shoe. It’s plain white. It’s dull. And of course, I do not want to be Richard Simmons’ clone. So the final pick came between a Reebok low-cut black rubber shoes (P2900) versus this FILA Black Rubber Shoes ridiculously priced P999.00.

Pick: Low Price From Lazy Seller or Higher Price from eBay Veteran

Written by ShopOne on Saturday, December 15th, 2007 in Buying.

Selling at eBay or any other auction/classified sites is cutthroat business. With internet connectivity getting cheaper by day, more and more are jumping on the opportunity to sell online. Everyday, new sellers (tons of copycats too, they copy even the terms of post, the description, specs, products and all) enter the field each day.

But in buying, if you see good price, hold your horses, err, mouse. Be careful on clicking that “BUY NOW” and “BID NOW” buttons.

Other newbie sellers, they are known to undercut prices of the more established sellers just to get a piece of the pie.

Think about this… Choose your item… An MP3 player priced P3000 by a newbie seller with zero feedback versus P3300 being sold by a seller with 500 feedbacks and 99% rating. (more…)
