Philippine marketers slow adoption of online advertising

Written by ShopOne on Thursday, June 26th, 2008 in Advertising, Linked News.

Steve Garton, global media head of Synovate International, speaking at the World Marketing Conference Friday, said the reluctance of local advertisers to invest in online ads is a failure to research the potential of new forms of media and the needs of their own customers.

“There’s a major payoff for those who are brave enough to identify the opportunities presented by new media because they get first-mover advantage. Holding back means you could be an also-ran instead of being an innovator and that talks about the status of your brand as well,” Garton said in an abs-cbnNEWS.com interview.

Trying Sulid Paid Ads Ver 2

Written by ShopOne on Tuesday, May 13th, 2008 in Advertising.

Used to be, to subscribe to Sulit.com.ph paid ad placements, you have to deposit the fee to their local bank account. After the relaunch of their ad system, you will need your handy non-blocked – with credit limit still – credit card.

The payment and booking is via AdToll and then, Paypal. For the first placement and booking, AdToll requires registration. I registered an account just to try the system. (By the way, going thru the process, while there, you’ll be like by hooked up by Paypal to register an account. Which is not bad anyways. I did register another Paypal account.

After a minute… my inbox has this…

Thank you for your purchase. Sponsored Ads scheduled to start immediately will commence within approximately 20 minutes. Publishers do have the right to deny ads and in the event they do you will be credited the amount back to your AdToll Account Credit where you can use it to purchase further ads.

We will approve Run of Network ads within 24 hours. If there is an issue we will get in contact with you.

The Sulit ads placement is on sale (8$ a wek) and that payment thru credit card is sooooo easy (hopefully crystal safe). I’ll check time to time is my ads shows up. It’s an ad placement for BLOZOOM!

Quick update (I mean really quick, one minute quick!)…

My ad image showed up! See Below.

Advertising with eBay Philippines and SULIT

Written by ShopOne on Sunday, February 17th, 2008 in Advertising.

Earlier last week, we tried one cute little advertising at Sulit.com.ph. Priced at P695, we subscribed to it just for learning and testing experience. By the way, the ad we placed pointed to BLOZOOM.com, another project born out of testing and wanting to learn more. After some few days, I got fairly good idea with the effect of our trial ads at Sulit.com.ph. We’ll be adjusting any campaign for our sites the next time we subscribe to Sulit.com.ph ads service. BTW, Sulit will overhaul the ad placement sometime in April so it’s a whole new ballgame again. (more…)

AuctionAds launched the ShoppingAds just few days ago. ShoppingAds is a cost per click ad product powered by the major shopping comparison sites. This one is not CPA or cost per action (see actual installation here) but CPC or Cost Per Click. A whole lot difference between the two. Being based here in the Philippines, CPC is more suited for us. (more…)

Track Your Feature Ads At Buyandsellplus.com

Written by Becypher on Friday, May 11th, 2007 in Advertising.

Going about the testing of the new Buy and Sell Plus website, I found that you can actually track the IP addresses of those who clicking your ads in the Feature Ads, Priority Listings, etc.

With this, you’ll know if someone is messing up. If someone is doing click fraud on you. Sample of click fraud is, if your competitor keeps on clicking your ads to dilute your ad spending funds. BuyAndSellPlus.com uses cash wallet to pay for these ads subcription. This happens at Google Adsense. It can certainly happen to Buy and Sell Plus as well. (more…)
