Furniture Online Site?

Written by ShopOne on Saturday, August 29th, 2009 in Our News.

Just one little milestone at Leoque website. We have posted 499 juicylicious posts encompassing our furniture products, displays & accents, some fun photo shots of products, a bit of industry tips and news, interesting site links… and more.

And so, we got 500 posts now!

With just a little over half a year, we get to be at half-kilo posts. On average, we are producing over 2 and half posts per day. I’m just lazy to dig, but I know, there are over 2000 copyrighted photos at site, all photographed and processed by us. Over 400 pieces of distinct & different items-for-sale scattered all throughout the four hundred ninety nine posts.

But wait, there’s more…

The back-end part of doing this online furniture shop, that’s also a handful. Making sure that the plug-ins are working, the contact form, doing back-ups, the pages are showing up correctly, ads are all good and more.

I’ll tell you, making a shop-blog for furniture is not for the faint-hearted. Kids, don’t try this at home.

Marketers always have the statement… “we are the fastest growing network…,” “we are the fastest growing food chain…,” etc… well, we are positive, the House of Leoque furniture website, is one of the fastest growing weblogs-con-shop in the Philippines. And this site will only get bigger, bolder and better.

Here’s to another 500 posts!

Woman charged for a Fake Craiglist Post

Written by ShopOne on Friday, August 21st, 2009 in Linked News.

40-year-old Elizabeth Thrasher is the first person arrested under new Missouri “cyberbullying” laws, following the posting of pictures, the email address, and cell phone number of a 17-year-old girl on Craigslist, where she claimed she was looking for a sexual rendezvous. The girl — as you’d expect — received numerous lewd come-ons. After she called the cops, Thrasher also received something: A trip to jail. Thrasher was freed on $10,000 bond but is now preliminarily barred from having a computer or internet access in her home pending her trial. Thrasher’s motives are unclear, but the girl in question is allegedly the daughter of her ex-husband’s new girlfriend, so a revenge plot is a bit obvious here. The girlfriend and Thrasher had allegedly been arguing for some time, thus the escalation and retaliation. Full Story

Cory memorabilia & collectors item at eBay

Written by ShopOne on Thursday, August 6th, 2009 in Linked News.

Amid the crowds that massed around Aquino’s funeral cortege on August 3, vendors sold Cory pins for P30 to P40 or plain yellow ribbons for P10 each. Some of these ribbons were home-made.

Cory memorabilia and items cropped up even on online market platforms like eBay Philippines.

Various sellers on eBay are advertising mementoes like a commemorative silver coin that was minted when Aquino visited Washington in 1986. Only 1,000 coin pieces were made, so the bidding price for one commemorative silver coin on eBay starts at P4,000.

Other items being sold on the website are People Power T-shirts (P500), a “Cory Aquino for President” badge (P10 starting bid), and 1986 Cory Aquino campaign photos currently priced at $13.13 (about P626).

eBay working on alternative software for Skype

Written by ShopOne on Saturday, August 1st, 2009 in Linked News.

EBay Inc. is developing software it might use to continue running the online telecommunications service Skype if it cannot resolve a legal dispute with a separate company run by the service’s founders.

In a filing this week with the Securities and Exchange Commission, eBay said it has started developing an alternative to the technology it currently licenses from Joltid.

The company noted its efforts might not be successful, however, and could lead to a “loss of functionality or customers even if successful.” Regardless, building such software will be costly, eBay said.
