Some notes I got while reading a Craiglist article.

• You know this already, but Craig Newmark founded Craigslist.
• Craiglist is often blamed by print newspapers for declining newspaper ads business. (This is equivalent to someday having Manila Bulletin blaming Sulit.com.ph for a loss of ads revenue. I have a separate blog entry about another sold item via Sulit. I sold my car via sulit. Check later.)
• Craiglist is the 7th most popular site in the US of A.
• Craigslist has, by the estimate of its chief executive, Jim Buckmaster, generated more than 600 million free classified listings.
• Craiglist is generally free but has paid service for jobs and real estate industries.
• Craig drives an old Prius.
• eBay is a minority owner of Craigslist.
• Kijiji is a rival online-classified site cooked up by eBay. Kijiji does not have Philippine site version. But, eBay has its own eBay Philippines.
• Craigist has local cebu davao city manila Philippines site version/extensions.
• Craigslist has no sales force.
