FREE Ads (Sulit), Sulit Nga Ba?

Written by ShopOne on Saturday, June 28th, 2008 in Our News.

To each his own indeed.

Many times over, I already posted here, that my RORTI (rate of return on time invested) over at Sulit.com.ph is comparable if not better than eBay.

But, there will always be cruz to a cara, white to a black, heaven to hell, a cock to a, well, hen.

I saw this entry , see er read for yourself. Basically, hidden title is FREE ADS ARE WORTHLESS! With Sulit.com.ph being THE most popular “free” ads site, this is where the author got his sampling. Sulit ad links are posted even. Go, check it. Wait, finish my post….

I say posting at FREE ads is not that counter-productive as the post suggest. My 6 cents… (1) I will not blame FREE ads (contained inside Sulit) for the onslaught of scam and spam ad posts. Paid ads via king of Internet Ads also dole out scam and spam websites, MLM modus operandi and other false quick cash schemes. Paid ads via newsprint hardcopy dailies and ads paper also accept these MLM operations. With or without FREE ads, MLM and Scam will continue to exist. (2) Free ads users (like me) are not lazy. Just trying to make do with what is in the field. (3) Eff the government for not being able to track the internet industry. It’s their effing fault for not having a real agency or bureau to track the buying and selling. And eff them government if they can not in the first place establish an agency that would help online traders buy and sell online properly. I mean, providing tools, seminars, payment gateways, licenses, etc. for “proper” internet trade. Don’t blame the “poor” online buyers and sellers if they can’t get tax juice out of this. Blame this lazy, corrupt and inept gobyerno. (4) Also, wherever it may be, from free ads or paid ads, internet activity of one individual is so hard to trace. You need not go on picking on a seller that offers “danggit” online to show sampling. Other internet pros (programmers, bloggers, developers) are raking far more dollars-dough without BIR’s eyes on them. (5) By saying that free ads are mostly done on meet yo there meet me here M.O. is NOT true. That’s a general perception but that is not true. Real stores and businesses are just using the site well to post their ads, and later, real services and products are provided and receipts are issued. One of the hottest category over at Sulit.com.ph is the Real Estate. There, no cash are given during first meet-ups of sellers and potential buyers. But eventually, agents or brokers score some sales. I say, that alone, FREE Ads site helps. BTW, we got my own FREE ads site, HERE :-) And when, these brokers and agents continue to post up for sale house and lots, etc, it means they are getting something out of the free ads posting. It’s not worthless eh? Hmmmm, where’s the DTI when we needed them? (6) Finally, legitimate business are all over the FREE ads world. You need to be lone time user of the site to be able to dig and see that legit businesses, enterprises, corporations are doing business inside FREE advertisements sites. Believe me. The language, the handshake, the eye contact, we can do this as per client’s request. Just that, just how it works right now, you gotta have some leads via the internet. Internet is where we are all heading. Where are the people? They are at Sulit’s free ads operation. So where will we post? Yep, FREE ADS SITE.

Philippine marketers slow adoption of online advertising

Written by ShopOne on Thursday, June 26th, 2008 in Advertising, Linked News.

Steve Garton, global media head of Synovate International, speaking at the World Marketing Conference Friday, said the reluctance of local advertisers to invest in online ads is a failure to research the potential of new forms of media and the needs of their own customers.

“There’s a major payoff for those who are brave enough to identify the opportunities presented by new media because they get first-mover advantage. Holding back means you could be an also-ran instead of being an innovator and that talks about the status of your brand as well,” Garton said in an abs-cbnNEWS.com interview.

Bored of your life? Man auctions his off on Sunday

Written by ShopOne on Saturday, June 21st, 2008 in Linked News.

CANBERRA (Reuters) – When Ian Usher’s partner of 12 years left him broken-hearted, he decided the best way to move forward was to auction his whole life, in one job lot.

From Sunday, June 22 for one week, Usher’s life is up for sale on eBay with the package including his $420,000 (US$397,000) three-bedroom house in Perth, Western Australia, a trial for his job at a rug store, his car, motorbike, clothes and even friends.

Usher, 44, told Reuters he had been inundated with emails from all over the world since he put his life up for grabs in March, largely from people supporting him but also from those who were asking for advice on how to change their own lives.

“I was taken aback by how much interest there has been and by the amount of people it has inspired and had an impact on,” said Usher who is hoping to raise up to $500,000 to fund a new life.

I am not really a fan of DO-IT-ALL websites like this. Somehow, a site must have a niche where it could really excel and focus on. A year (or two) ago, Friendster.com tried to develop a classifieds interface inside Friendster.com social site. ‘Twas called PUSIT. Well, nothing happened there/then. Another site, PINOYZING, also has this same m.o. Check my entry here. There is no harm in re-trying though. If Greatpinoy.com developers want to gobble up all components, modules and mambots known to planet earth and pack it all to their site, it’s their call.

Speaking of “call”, here’s a call to join them in the socializing and buying/selling scheme of things. Go, the site here.

BTW, a classifieds will never ever be no.1 if its ad classifieds form doesn’t have IMAGE field entry. NEVER! Therefore, I just wish, they don’t have this tag, NO.1 FREE CLASSIFIEDS! Other than, it’s free world, free classifieds ads site are most welcome.
