OLX.ph – Online Exchange Philippines

Written by ShopOne on May 18th, 2007 in Featured Sites.

OLX.ph is short for Online Exchange Philippines (not far from this eBay handle, NETEXPH, short for Net Exchange Philippines)

Site is very, and I mean very easy, to use. A minute or so, and you will be able to post an ad. Multiple images uploading and hosting is allowed. Users are given mailboxes within the users’ dashboard or control panel. Neat huh?

You can also be contacted directly by interested buyers because contact details are posted as well. However, you got the call if you want NOT to publish your contact details. Just leave the “Phone Number” field empty.

You don’t need to register to use OLX, but it is recommended for easier management of your listings. Comment feature is present. So, expect the possibility of some published haggling.

There is just a bug on the METRO MANILA listing option. They got two. One is “Metro Manila” and the other being, “Metro Manilla.” Since the former only has “Caloocan” as the city within that category, Metro Manila sellers will have no choice but to use the “Metro Manilla” option. The “Metro Manila” contains all other municipalities and cities inside the metro.

What would have been nice is there is link to view seller all items. Or better, seller’s profile. The system doesn’t have feedback mechanism yet nor a payment system. This is purely quickie classifieds/auction sites. What really annoys me in this types of site is poor search functionality. Well, OLX does have good search functions.

OLX isn’t Philippine based thingie, multitude of country versions are available. From Argentina, to Hong Kong, UAE, Thailand, Peru and more.

You got three posting options: Classifieds, Auctions and the Buy Now. I tried the classifieds and the auctions. In my test posts, auction will run 7 days and the classifieds post will run for one long year a year. You got the option to edit the listing in case something comes during the course of the year.

If we get good feedbacks, rather, get inquiries and sales coming from OLX.ph, we’ll keep you posted and we’ll keep on posting there as well.
