Unionbank EON Visa Cyber Account
Written by ShopOne on April 3rd, 2007 in Money Transfer.

If you are planning on selling and buying online, one card that is pretty useful is Unionbank’s EON Cyber Account.
Aside from being able to use this card for shopping offline and online, you can also use this card at any Megalink ATM machine to withdraw cash (assuming you have funds of course, this is not a credit card but a debit card).
You can also use this Unionbank EON Visa Cyber Account if you intend to buy from eBay.com sellers that has Paypal as payment option. Bulk of international eBay sellers accept Paypal. For some serious online shopping, you can load your Paypal account using your EON card. Not only use this to buy products and services at eBay but for other online stores as well, worldwide. Since early 2005, we have been using Unionbank’s EON Visa Electron account. Luckily, it’s been going on smoothly. A bonus, you can also use EON Card to pay your MERALCO bills and other utilities. Yearly renewal is only P350. I just renewed mine last week. The charge is auto-debit so you dont need to go to the bank to have it renewed.
To get one, proceed to any UnionBank branch and fill-up an application form. Much easier is, just to go to the UnionBank website and fill-up the form online.
The negatives: Not much really. I find this debit card OK. Perhaps, having P20,000 limit per transaction is a downer. Also, not a lot of peopleuses this still. So sellers at Philippine auctions sites that use Unionbank online transfer facility isn’t bunch.
